A friend will never make weed to be smoked by you:

The youth in the 21st century couldn’t have asked for a better time than today! With technology at its best then its predecessor times and internet at the fingertips, people live in an age of data overload. Man’s basic instinct could not have been sated better than a selfie and a post! Unfortunately, this age has a dark side too. What might start as a one-time fun activity, becomes a pain for the rest of the life?As per the World Drug Report 2018 published by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, peak levels of drug use around the world has been observed to occur in between 18 to 25 years of age. Depending upon the social and economic circumstances of the country, two settings drive youth to drug abuse; Drugs used in recreational settings to enhance excitement (mostly occurring in developed and upper developing economies) and young people living in extreme circumstances making use of drugs to cope the situations. Adding insult to injury, drug addiction does leave an indelible mark on a person’s life and his/her family.

Life can take people higher than drugs:

During his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister, Hon’ble Prime minister Shri Narendra Modi has recounted his experience of how some of the high ranking officers in his cabinet used to burst into tears as they took leaves to take their drug-addicted sons and daughters to Addiction Treatment Centre. The process of drug deaddiction depending upon the intensity could range between 30 to 90 days. Thanks to the National Toll-free helpline, with 17 phone lines, drug de-addiction in India is now within reach of lower economic segments of the Indian population. Nowadays Addiction treatment center deploys a twelve-step Narcotics anonymous program to facilitate the rehabilitation of patients. These steps are surmised as an admittance of self-powerlessness over drugs, believe that the mind is far more powerful in restoring self to sanity. Surrender ourselves to the will of God and have faith in his actions and many more physical, mental and spiritual measures to help the patient come out of the vicious cycle and recuperate. Although a subject of criticism, it has been proved time and again a customized treatment involving all the above-said dimensions can produce wondrous results.

With the wide usage of telecommunication and mass media to propagate drug rehabilitation, the governments around the globe have shown their commitment to the war on drugs. With strict regulations over the use of prescription drugs and stronger administration against drug trafficking, it’s only a matter of time. Add into the mix an individual’s resolve to stay away and prevent others from ingesting this poison! Say no to drugs and yes to a better life. For those who have fallen prey to this menace, where there is a will there is a way. And help is only a call away!!
