Most vascular diseases or problems are treated with a minimally invasive treatment that is focused on repairing and treating veins without causing a great amount of trauma to the body.

How are vein diseases found?

Usually when vein diseases or problems are noticed there are a few different ways that a radiologist may choose to diagnose what is really happening inside of your body. • Angiography
  • Cholangiography
  • Biopsy

These three procedures are used to determine what is wrong inside of the vein, and not to treat the problem that they find. Once they have determined what the problem is and how they are going to treat it, they will go through an extensive list to decide which treatment option is going to be the most beneficial for them to treat the problem the radiologist found from the diagnostic procedure.

Some vascular radiology treatment procedures include:

  • Angioplasty
  • Embolization
  • Dialysis
  • Endovenous Laser Treatments

To go into more detail, Endovenous laser treatments are made to treat varicose veins which are of much less concern that say a blockage of your heart. If a doctor need to go in and check on the vein flow near your heart they will likely use a procedure like an Angioplasty. There are different levels of vein disorders and a radiologist and team of doctors will be able to determine how serious your problem is and if you are going to need minimally invasive treatments or a more invasive procedure.

This is just a small list of options that you may be treated with by a radiologist and his team if they find that you have a vascular disease or problem. There are many different treatment options that can be looked over if the doctor feels that your disease is fitting. You do not need to be afraid of a vascular problem as radiologists are well trained and studied up on the different types of procedures that you may need if you. They will work with your other doctors to be sure that you are given the best treatment.
